Lois Hughbanks, 92, of Indianapolis and formerly of Brazil died Sept. 6, 2006, at Forest Creek Village.
She was born May 5, 1914, in Clay County, the daughter of Charles Kaelber and Rosa Brock Kaelber. She was married to C. Odell Hughbanks, he preceded her in death.
She as an active member of the Brazil Nazarene Church. She provided homebound visitation to members of the church for 20 years, and she cleaned the church for over 25 years.
She is survived by her children, Janet Gore and husband Charles of Indianapolis and Larry Hughbanks and wife Margaret in Texas; seven grandchildren, Gary Gore of Oklahoma, Debra Dodson, Mary Jane Decker and Tammy Wilkins, all of Indianapolis, Jeffery Gore of Georgia; Tony Hughbanks of Alaska; and Bruce Hughbanks of Dallas; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Jones of Brazil; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by two sons, William R. Hughbanks and Jack O. Hughbanks, four brothers John Kaelber, Raymond Kaelber, Etterman Kaelber and Urba Kaelber and three sisters, Elsie Meyers, Ethel Russell and Gladys Kaelber.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at French Funeral Home with the Rev. J.C. Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Cory Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. services. Post a heart of condolence at www.frenchfuneralhome.com.
