LENORA LEE ACREE KEARSCHNER

Lenora Lee Acree Kearschner, 79 of Brazil passed away Sept. 15, 2006, at Union Hospital at 7:43 a.m. She was born May 21, 1927, in Clay County the daughter of Walter Maurey, Sr. and Bessie Fisher Maurey.

She was a graduate of Brazil High School, Class of 1945. Soon after graduation she married William Acree. He preceded her in death in 1989.

She was a member of the Eastern Star in Knightsville and the Shrine in Terre Haute. She had been a member of the Carbon Baptist Church for the past several years. Lee enjoyed going to the Covered Bridge Festival, yard sales, camping and local fish frys. She was also very generous in baking pies for friends and family.

Sept. 23, 1992, she married Walter G. Kearschner. He preceded her in death May 10, 2000.

Survivors include her sons, James W. Acree and friend, Norma Batchelor, Robert L. Acree and wife, Judy, all of Brazil, Gary G. Acree and wife, Jackie, of Manchester, MI; stepsons Dr. Ronald G. Kearschner and wife, Jan, of Salem, IN, Ronald E. Kearschner and wife, Sherry, of Brazil; 11 grandchildren, Anita Mace and Steve Mace, Mike Acree and wife, Amy, Brooke Lockhart and husband, David, Kelly Acree, William-Dean Acree, Michael Walden, Cale Kearschner and his wife, Kimberly, Gwin Vonnahme and husband Laren, Jill Ross and husband, Dave, Jared Kearschner and wife Jenny, and Jenessa Kearschner; 14 great-grandchildren, Natali Sullivan, Jim Mace, Sam Mace, Tom Mace, Ashton Acree, Kaitlynn Acree, Brendon Lockhart, Jake Lockhart, Taylor Kearschner, Kaitlyn Kearschner, Colton Kearschner, Olivia Vonnahme, Madison Vonnahme, and Koryn Ross; one sister, Ruth Miller; nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son John Joseph Acree; her first husband William F. Acree; second husband, Walter Kearschner in 2000; two brothers, Walter Maurey, Jr and Kenneth Maurey; one grandson Joshua Kearschner.

Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Lawson-Miller Chapel with Pastor Howard Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Tuesday prior to services. Post a heart of condolence at www.frenchfuneralhome.com.
