Virgie Marilene Dellacca, 76 of Rantoul, Ill., formerly of Brazil, passed away Monday Oct. 9, 2006, at the Heartland Health Care Facility in Paxton, IL. She was born Nov. 7, 1929, in Carbon, Ind., the daughter of Virgil David Black and Lucille Ellen Wells Black. She was a graduate of Van Buren High School, Class of 1947. Oct. 9, 1949, she married Robert Eugene Dellacca. He preceded her in death Nov. 21, 1970. She was a member of the Carbon United Methodist Church.

She worked 18 years at the Clay County Health Center as a QMA, retiring at age 60. She moved to Rantoul in 1996 to be closer to her family. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading Zane Grey books and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her daughter, Lana Susanne "Susie" (Dellacca) McCarty of Rantoul, Ill.; sister Shirley Ann Nevins of Brazil; sister-in-law, Helen Stearley of St. Louis, Mo.; five nephews and two nieces and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister Wilma Jean Cummings.

At her request cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at French Funeral Home. Burial of the ashes will be at Calcutta Cemetery.
