Charlotte Martha Muenster, 94, a longtime resident of Clay County, passed away in the Asbury Towers in Greencastle.
She was born Sept. 30, 1912, in Clay County to Ernest Fischer and Elizabeth Meyer Fischer. On June 30, 1940, she married Herbert Muenster, who preceded her in death on October 26, 1963.
Mrs. Muenster enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting gardening handy work crossword puzzles was very family oriented and a member of the Bowling Green Chapter 304 O.E.S. and the Zion United Church of Christ in Poland.
She was a 1931 graduate of Bowling Green High School, a 1933 graduate of Indiana State Teachers College, received her B.S. from ISU in 1960 and her Masters in 1967 and taught many years in the Clay Community School Corporation, including time at Center Point, Jackson Township, Ashboro, Clay City Elementary and Bowling Green Schools.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Oran Muenster; two brothers, John and Clarence Fischer; and three sisters, Mary Fatch, Esther Harden, Nelle Gettle.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Swalley and husband, Dean, of Greencastle; a daughter-in-law, Judy Muenster, of Greenfield; five grandchildren, Delaina Boyd and husband, Bryan, of Gaston, IN, Lisa Hofmann of Greenfield, IN, Tiffany Licht and husband, Rob, of Indianapolis, Drew Swalley of Los Angeles and Shandol Hoover and husband Jeff of State College, PA; six great- grandchildren, Kyle, Leslie, Tenille, Jacob, Jordan and Lauren Marie; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, in the French Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Center Point Cemetery.
