Frederick A. Danforth, Sr., 88, of Reelsville, IN, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at Harborside Healthcare, Terre Haute, IN.
Danforth was born March 15, 1918, in St. Andrews, IN, the son of George Danforth and Luella (Raiford) Danforth.
After graduating of Carmel High School in 1939, he attended DePauw University for two years.
Danforth enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He married his wife Esther (Moyd) Danforth on May 27, 1945.
He was the owner/operator of Danforth Logging and belonged to American Legion Post 2 in Brazil.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Teresa Pickett and husband Jim, of Peru, and Floreen McKinley and husband Greg of Washington, IN; two sons, Frederick A. Danforth Jr. and wife Brenda, of Pontotoc, MS, and Bruce Danforth and wife Laura, of Bloomingdale, IN; sisters Alice Tevault and Rosie Deckard, both of Indianapolis; brothers Dick Danforth and wife Carolyn, of Indianapolis; two foster sister, Margaret Hull and husband Hank, of Carmel, IN, and Joan Bremman, of TX, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Helen Richards and Anna Lou Manley; two brothers, Carl Danforth and Tommy Danforth.
Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 16 from 1-3 p.m., at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale. Graveside services will begin at 3:30 p.m. at Fertig Cemetery, Poland, with Pastor Richard Hall officiating.
