Janet Kay Rains, 58, of Brazil, died at 4:52 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006 in the emergency room at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.
She was born May 2, 1948 in Radcliff, Kentucky as the daughter of James and Jackie Jackson Shelton. She married Robert rains February 7, 1981. Janet was a friend to everyone and enjoyed her crafts and family gatherings. She also enjoyed being around horses and learning the Indian way of life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Gwen Shelton; one brother, Timothy David Shelton and one grandchild.
She is survived by her husband Robert; one son George Goldsmith and wife Theresa of Brazil; two daughters, Dianna Rains and her companion Shawn McBride of Terre Haute and Barbara Laswell and husband Darwin of Brazil; six grandchildren, Emily rains, Teddy Laswell, Darwin Laswell II, Jason Rains, Marrissia Drumond, Dannielle McBride; one step grandson Chad Weaver and wife Jenner; three step great grandchildren, Michelle, Austin Weaver and Kristan Norris; and one adopted daughter and granddaughter, Carol Jo Sals and Jackie Sals.
She is also survived by one brother, Tim Shelton; two sisters, Sherry Frakes and Cindy Trumbo, all of Kentucky and many special friends.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 noon Monday at Moore Funeral Home. At the request of the deceased, her body will be cremated.
