Edward "Ed" Muncie

Edward "Ed" Muncie, 62, of Lebanon, Ind., passed away at 5:28 p.m. Monday Oct. 30, 2006, at St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel, Ind.

Mr. Muncie was born in Brazil on Dec. 27, 1943, the son of the late John Edward and Carol Jean Eberle Muncie. Mr. Muncie was a 1962 graduate of Lebanon High School. He was also a graduate of Indiana University School of Business. He served from 1962 until 1965 in the Army and was assigned to Toul, France, as a payroll clerk.

He was a member of The Church of Latter Day Saints in Lebanon. He was an avid IU and Lebanon High School sports fan. He was the jovial Santa for Kappa Delta Phi's Breakfast for Santa. He never turned down any request from family and friends. His family was his life, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Muncie worked as an accountant for Capital Machine, Navel Avionics and he retired from Ft. Benjamin Harrison in 2005. He was married to Sue Ellen Decker Muncie on March 26, 1988 in Lebanon. Mrs. Muncie survives. Mr. Muncie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. In addition to his family, he enjoyed yard work, fishing and wildlife. He was a member of I.U. Alumni Association and former member of Boys and Girls Club and the Elks.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sue Muncie of Lebanon, five children, Shannon Metzger and husband Russell of Lebanon, Scott Muncie and wife Glenda of Tipton, Ind., Stacey Swift and husband Shane of Lebanon, Brian Dickerson and wife Leslie of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and K.C. Dickerson and wife Melanie of Atlanta, Ind., one brother, John D. Muncie of Lebanon, twelve grandchildren, Jason and Morgan Metzger of Lebanon, Giselle Berzenye and Madilyn Hedge Swift of Lebanon, Lacey, A.J., Brielle and Kaedon Edward Muncie of Tipton, Ind., Cheyenne Brumbaugh of Tipton, Ind., Karlie, Josie and Lillie Kate Dickerson of Atlanta, Ind., and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert W. Muncie and two sisters, Carol Ann Nicely and Brenda Sue Large.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Nov. 3, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Myers Chapel of Memories, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, Ind. with Robert Monn officiating. Visitation is planned for Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Lebanon, Ind. Interment will follow military rites at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Ind.
