Slippin' and slidin'. A Red Bird wrecker tows a vehicle out of a ditch, after it slid on very slippery pavement. According to Clay County Sheriff's Communications Officer, Cindy Judd, this was one of several slide offs and accidents in the county following the first snowfall of the season. Many people opted to call a wrecker to get pulled out of the ditches instead of calling the sheriff's department. Calls to the sheriff's department were coming in from all over the county as well as calls from Owen and Putnam counties, advising of accidents and cars in ditches. In one 3 mile stretch of Harmony road, four vehicles were in ditches. Clay County received six-tenths of an inch of snow, District Conservationist Doris Sculley reports.
