Quick action from the Brazil City Police and Clay County Sheriff's departments resulted in an arrest early Friday morning.

An alarm was reported to the Brazil Police department at 2:37 a.m. at Lynn's Pharmacy, located at 22 West National Ave.

"Officer Chris Blila, Brazil City Police department and Sergeant Rob Gambill, Clay County Sheriff's department arrived at the scene within one minute," said Brazil Police Chief Terry Harrison. "They observed a person wearing a ski mask inside the building."

According to Harrison, the subject apparently saw the two officers and fled out the front of the building, but the officers pursued Corbin A. Baker, 29, of Ellettsville, Ind., for about a block.

Baker was apprehended and taken into custody. In his possession was several controlled substances that had been taken from the pharmacy, with a street value of several thousand dollars.

Baker was booked in the Clay County Jail on preliminary charges of burglary and resisting law enforcement. Bond was set at $10,000 cash, which Baker posted and was released.

"The quick response of both officers were critical in the apprehension of this suspect," Harrison said.
