Making snow sculptures before the sun shines

Monday, December 30, 2002

Local snow sculptors were out in force over the weekend creating arctic artwork with the remains of the Christmas Eve storm.

Andrea Schultz, 8, wanted her dad to help her make a snowman.

When they started their project, Charles Schultz thought the head looked more like a dog. So he sculpted a snowdog that looks a lot like Snoopy .

The 6-foot structure was much more defined before spending Sunday under near-50 degree temperatures.

The Schultzs live on Kennedy Crossing Road, two houses north of the high school. But with the unseasonably warm weather, if he's still there, snowdog may just be a slushpuppy.
