A mass of cold arctic air and high pressure that brought below-zero wind chills blowing through the state is also expected to dump up to 14 inches of lake-effect snow on northern Indiana by tonight.
Brazil thermometers registered in below-zero territory this morning.
Temperatures won't creep above freezing until next week, the National Weather Service said.
Lows tonight will range from minus 5 to plus 5 degrees in the north to around 10 degrees in the south, but winds will taper off overnight.
