Erin McCrea will study life sciences at Kingstown University in London for the next five months.
"I've always wanted to travel. I had a cousin that went to London and had a really good time, so I wanted to go to London too," McCrea said.
The Northview High School graduate is in her senior year at Indiana State University and the class credits will transfer. She'll be taking such classes as marine and fresh water ecology, pollution studies and invertebrate diversity. The British cultures class, a must for every exchange student, introduces students to England's most popular attractions.
McCrea will stay with a lady that has an apartment building about a 10-minute bus ride away from campus. She hopes her sister, Jessica, a sophomore at DePauw University, will be able to visit her during spring break. Along with some other friends, they plan to travel to Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
"My Grandma Mary is always leaving us and going somewhere exotic. She's been to China, Australia and the Amazon. I've always wanted to travel," she said.
After graduation from ISU, McCrea plans to go to veterinarian school at Purdue. She hopes to be an exotic animals vet at a zoo or national park.
