INDIANAPOLIS -- State Representative Andy Thomas (R-Brazil) welcomed nearly 200 students to the Statehouse Tuesday and Wednesday to learn about the legislative process first hand. Students from Northview High School have made the trip each year for the past several years.

While speaking to the students, Thomas discussed many issues that will concern his constituents and the citizens of Indiana throughout this legislative session. Of particular concern to students, HB1006 and HB 1007 provide funding towards technology and economic development.

"Investing in technology today will greatly benefit our state, our economy and our youth," said Thomas.

"Economics teacher Calvin Vitz and Government teacher Tony Trout deserve an enormous amount of credit for their hard work and dedication to bring these students each year," said Thomas. "I commend their work as educators for the students in our district."

Thomas was grateful for the time he spent with the students, and looks forward to next year's visit from the students at Northview.
