WASHINGTON -- U.S. Rep. John Hostettler has announced that Eric Holcomb will serve as his district director. Holcomb, who has worked for Hostettler since 1997, was a field representative in the congressman's Vincennes office before managing his 2002 campaign.
"Eric combines boundless energry and Hoosier values with an in-depth knowledge of the 8th District," Hostettler said. "Eric is dedicated to community service and will make constituent services a top priority."
Holcomb, 34, will oversee Hostettler's Evansville, Terre Haute and Vincennes offices and supervise all district personnel.
"While the 8th District is large and diverse, there is a shared sense of values and community throughout," Holcomb said. "I am excited by this new opportunity and look forward to working with Congressman Hostettler as he serves Hoosiers in Southwest and West Central Indiana."
Prior to working for Hostettler, Holcomb served six years active duty in the United States Navy. After basic training in Chicago and schooling in Mississippi, Holcomb served two years at NAS VS-27 in Jacksonville, Fla., followed by three years at a NATO Underground War Headquarters in Lison, Portugal.
Holcomb, a 1990 graduate of Hanover College, is a member of the Vincennes Kiwanis, VFW Post 1157 and the National Rifle Association. He is an associate member of the Vincennes Fraternal Order of Police and a Special Olympics Partner. Holcomb and his wife, Michelle, attend First United Methodist Church of Vincennes.
Holcomb serves on the boards of the Old Northwest Corp., the Wabash Valley Christian Academy and the Vincennes City Tree Board. He is president of the Knox County Pachyderm Club.
