INDIANAPOLIS -- The House of Representatives passed a bill last week to broaden the disabled veteran property tax deduction to include members of the National Guard. The bill was co-authored by Rep. Andy Thomas (R-Brazil).
"Since many members of the National Guard are defending our country, I believe they should receive the same benefits," Thomas said. "This bill ensures America's heroes receive proper thanks."
Previously, the deduction included only veterans of war. All interested individuals should contact the Department of Veteran Affairs by calling (800) 400-4520 for more information.
