Northview hosts Winter Guard teams

Northview High School will host it's annual Winter Guard Contest this Saturday. Sixty schools will compete in the event which is sanctioned by the Indiana High School Color Guard Association.

This is the last regular season contest prior to the State Preliminary Competition and all the groups will be striving to make the best possible impression on the judges as they head into the final two weeks of the IHSCGA season.

The contest is divided into six classes based on the performer's and designers ability.

They are Festival, Novice, B, A, Open and World. Festival and Novice are for the younger groups and it progresses up to World Class which has the most demanding criteria and judging scale.

NHS Winter Guard show schedule:

- Festival and Novice kick off at 10:50 a.m., Saturday

- Class B begins at 11:56 a.m. (Clay City is at 2:52 p.m.)

- Class A begins at 4:30 p.m.

- Open Class begins at 7:30 p.m.

- World Class starts at 8 p.m. (Center Grove, Avon, Lawrence Central, Northview and Jasper)

- The contest will be judged by five judges in the following categories:

Individual Equipment Skills

Individual Movement Skills

Ensemble Performance
