NHS Guard competes Saturday

Friday, March 14, 2003

The Northview High School Winter Guard competed at the Indiana High School Color Guard State Prelims on March 8 and qualified to compete at the IHSCGA State Championship on Saturday at Center Grove High School. Northview placed third with a score of 85.5. Northview competes in Scholastic World class which is the highest level of Winter Guard competition.

"We were very excited about our Prelims performance. The girls hard work paid off with a great performance. It is very difficult to get better at this stage of the season, but this particular group of kids definitely have the drive and the desire to continue to improve," said Director Ruth Ann Medworth.

The IHSCGA State Championships will be held on Saturday at Center Grove. World Class competition begins at 8 p.m.

Northview and Clay City Winter Guards will perform their show for the community on Friday. The performances begin at 7 p.m. and will be in the Northview gym.
