Last weekend, the Northview Winter Guard competed in the Winter Guard International Championships in Dayton, Ohio. The guard competed in the Scholastic World class which is the top high school class and received 11th place with a score of 84.5.
The competition showcases more than 300 winter guards and 150 percussion ensembles from more than 30 states and five countries. More than 10, 000 performers prepare for this event by competing in 29 Regional contests across the country.
James Logan High School, Union City, Calif., won the competition for the 6th consecutive year. Other finalist guards from Indiana include Avon, Franklin Central, Lawrence Central and Center Grove. Indiana had the most guards from one state to make the final competition.
