Hospital worker takes pie in face for Relay For Life

Tuesday, April 29, 2003

St. Vincent Clay Hospital dietary worker Zena Riddell responds to having a pie in the face by construction worker Mike Phares in the cafeteria Friday. Another construction worker at the hospital, Ross Aton, stands prepared to give Phares a dose of his own medicine. The workers were hosting a fundraiser for the annual Relay For Life, raising more than $125 for cancer research at the hospital. St. Vincent Clay, as a corporate sponsor, donated $1,000. "That's what we're all about as a health care provider," said hospital spokesman Jerry Laue, adding they're glad to support the cause. Riddell also raised $1,000 in her personal effort for the American Cancer Society.
