The North Clay and Northview Bands will combine for an evening of fun, food and music this Friday night. The Strawberry Festival will begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the NHS cafeteria, followed by the Band - o - Rama Concert at 7 in the gym.
During the concert you will hear everything from big band swing to classical.
The saxes will be featured on Satin Doll and the brass section will present
Aaron Copland's thrilling Fanfare for the Common Man. Also on the program are Stan Kenton's Malaguena and Duke Ellington's Caravan.
The concert will also take a fun twist with the second annual "name that tune". This year all members of the audience will be given a "quiz blank" and a pencil upon entering the gym. Near the end of the evening, the high school bands will play a 15-song medley of TV and movie themes.
The quiz will be multiple choice and the prizes will be awarded for the audience members who can identify the most selections.
Also during the evening, the Band Booster Strawberry Festival will take place in the cafeteria. Featuring Ritter's ice cream and the following menu selections will be available: Berries, ice cream, cake and topping, $4; berries, ice cream and topping, $3.50; berries and cake, $3; berries, $2 lemon shake-up, $2.
