There was not much to talk about in Tuesday night's Brazil City Council meeting, which lasted under an hour.
Mayor Kenny Crabb announced Michele Driscoll as the new administrator over the planning and zoning group. She will assume these duties June 16. Her office will be located in City Hall.
Old business discussed involved the sidewalk project. Crabb said all sidewalks should be worked on this summer.
New business included the signing of the new animal control contract. The only thing changed on the contract was the dates.
The Council then passed an ordinance naming a road in the park east of Roy Brann Stadium. The road will be called Tobe Sutherland Ln., in honor of one of the original founders of Clay Youth League. Sutherland has also been an umpire in the league for many years.
In the Board of Works meeting that followed, Crabb said the county is looking at prices and possible placement of weather alert sirens. There was also a discussion on people parking along city streets and causing obstructions to traffic.
