The Center for Women's Ministries has returned to their location at 314 Lankford St. during a brief time this winter as the neighboring Clay County Medical Center worked on renovation in their own building. The center had temporarily set up its southern counseling sessions at the Clay City Free Methodist Church. The volunteer staff and directors recently met for a rededication ceremony and prayer time at the center.
The Center for Women's Ministries is headquartered in Clay City, but works in cooperation with the Clay County Benevevolence Ministry, and Christian counseling is available in Brazil at Cooper Towers. The Center offers at no charge paraprofessional Christian counseling for women, teenage girls, and married couples. The entire ministry is staffed by trained Christian Clay County volunteers whose focus is to help others heal through scripture. The center offers one-on-one counseling, support groups, and Bible studies and is non-denominational. There is currently a Bible study on Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. and support groups on Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
There will be training available this summer for anyone interested in learning how to be a paraprofessional Christian counselor. The Center's regular hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, but appointments can be made any time. Counseling can be arranged at either Brazil or Clay City. For more information, contact the local center at 812-939-1317 or online at email@example.com. You can get more information at the national center at www.bloomington.in.us/~natlwcwm/index.ht... for information about the other centers around the United States and coming soon foreign countries.
