Car show benefits kids

Thursday, June 5, 2003

The Brazil Time/Banner Graphic fifth annual Children's Charities Car Show will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Bring your family to support local our charities. All proceeds will be divided equally between Clay County's Toys for Tots and Putnam County's Shop with a Cop.

You'll see 10 different categories of cars displayed at The Times parking lot located at 100 N. Meridian St. in Brazil. Car and truck show participants will be judged by their peers and will receive goody bags filled with a T-shirt, dash plaque and other good stuff. Registration ends at 11 a.m.

There will plenty of activities for the family such as an air bouncer for kids to romp around inside, several games, face painting by Ivy Herron and D.J. music by Chris Sawyer. Concessions will also be available.

Many free door prizes will be given away and raffle tickets for a chance to win a recliner from Mike Goodman's Furniture will be sold. Advance sell tickets are available at both newspaper offices and the furniture store or during the day of the car show for $1 a piece or $5 for six tickets. The drawing will be conducted at 11 a.m. and you need not be present to win.

In case of rain, the car show will be the following Saturday.
