4-H princess reflects on year, wishes 2003 contenders luck

Tuesday, June 10, 2003

Have you ever wanted to be or feel like a princess? Well, here is your chance! Come join the fun at this year's 2003 Clay County 4-H Princess Pageant.

Hi! My name is Cameron Gerber and I am your reigning 2002 Clay County 4-H Princess. Over the past year, I have enjoyed many memorable moments: Being crowned Miss Clay County Princess, the bicycle rodeo, cat and dog shows, kid's tractor pull, Kid's Fun Night, horse shows, cattle shows, sheep shows, pig shows, rooster crowing contest, Scholarship Recognition, Adult Fun Night, mud wrestling, dances, parades, pictures, being on television and a whole lot more!

While participating in the pageant, I have had a chance to meet many great people and make a lot of new friends.

Throughout my reign, I have become friends with Queen Lacy Emery and together have touched many young girls' dreams.

Running for princess is not hard. First, fill out an application, a small sponsorship fee and a recent wallet-size photo. Next, you will receive a data sheet and will fill that out. Then the fun begins! The pageant is not judged on beauty or popularity, so be you!

Smile, have fun and enjoy the experience! Good luck to all the girls running! We're looking forward to a great pageant.

Princess candidates must be at least 12 years of age and cannot have had her 16th birthday as of July 18, the first day of the 2003 Clay County Fair.
