You could almost hear the "Mission Impossible" theme song playing as the patriotic red, white and blue helium filled balloons were released and floated up toward the heavens.

The Monday evening balloon release was the start of the Bible Fellowship Church Vacation Bible School whose theme, this year, is Mission Possible.

"The children are called investigators," Pastor Gordon Nelson explained. "We'll be investigating five Bible stories that seemed impossible but became possible with God. "They, then, have a mission to carry on the gospel that Jesus Christ died on the Cross for their sins, and that mission, sometimes, seems impossible to do."

Nelson said the name and address of the church will be attached to the balloons. The first person returning a balloonwill receive a prize.

Between 40 to 50 children from kindergarten through 6th grade, are expected to attend the Monday through Friday 6-8:30 p.m. sessions. The church is located on south SR 59 across from the 4-H Fairgrounds.

"Any children are welcome to attend the rest of the week," Nelson said.
