Students of Clay Community Schools were recognized Monday for participating in community service projects over the last year and a half. The students were given grants from the Youth as Resources program ranging from $100-$500 and then had their various projects approved. Pictured from left, front row: Ryan Yamamoto and Stephanie Yamamoto of Meridian Elementary used their $160 grant to repair basketball nets, paint trash cans and re-paint the basketball courts at their school. Hannah Whittington of Clay City Elementary used her $500 grant to build pavilions at her school. Back row: Robert Judd, Marie Vanatti and Emily Judd of North Clay Middle School used their $120 grant to make and distribute treat bags for residents and staff at Holly Hill and the staff of NCMS.
