A crowd gathers in the Northview High School Auditorium for "Engaging Parents for Success," the Clay County Literacy Conference funded by the CAPE grant, Tuesday morning. Registration began at 8 a.m. for the event, which lasted until 3 p.m. William Schad, Clay Community Schools superintendent, welcomed the educators, describing the work those present are doing with literacy as "extremely important," before turning the microphone over to Dr. Sharon Andrews, Conference Committee, Indiana State University. She introduced the keynote speaker, Kim Kelly, National Center for Family Literacy Training Specialist.
