Staunton woman wins Habitat drawing

Monday, August 25, 2003

Judy Berry, Clay County Habitat for Humanity, presents Anita Ave, of Staunton, with the grand prize in Habitat's weekly drawing at the band concerts. Ave won a $1,000 trip and a year's membership to Ambassadair. Habitat raised more than $2,000 through the raffle, Berry said. The grand prize cost $1,100, "so, we almost doubled our investment," she said. "Hopefully, next year, we will do better." Habitat helps families build homes who would otherwise be unable to do so.
