ROCKVILLE -- Raccoon State Recreation Area will hold a fireworks display on Aug. 30, Labor Day Weekend at 9 p.m. These fireworks were rescheduled from the Fourth of July due to stormy weather. This event is co-sponsored by Raccoon SRA, JUGA/Bellmore Volunteer Fire Department and the Raccoon Lake/Union Township Property Owners Association. Anyone interested in helping to defray the costs of the 2004 Fireworks Display are encouraged to contact Greg Sorrels, Raccoon SRA Property Manager, at 765-344-1412.
In addition to the fireworks display, interpretive activities for families have been planned for the whole weekend. Join the naturalist for a game of Nature Charades or for a hike to look for turtles. Activity schedules are posted on the bulletin boards located throughout the park and are available at the park gatehouses.
