The Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Art Gallery will feature "Imenagerie: A Collection of Cridders" by MacKenzie Dennis through Sept. 25.
Dennis, who holds bachelor's degrees in art history and printmaking from Indiana State University is a ceramist who combines a mixed media for her whimsical and unique sculptures and etchings. While working at ISU the assistant to the curator for the permanent art collection and the Sheldon Swope Art Museum as a community representative, Dennis is also working on her post-baccalaureate studies in ceramics at ISU. She is a member of the National Council for the Education of Ceramic Arts and Arts Illiana in Terre Haute.
The SMWC Art Gallery is located on the campus in room 132 of Hulman Hall and is open Tuesday through Friday from 12 to 4 p.m. For more information, please contact the gallery at 812-535-5265.
Ray A. Neff, co-author of the recently released book "Dark Union: The Secret Web of the Profiteers, Politicians and Booth Conspirators That Led to Lincoln's Death" will speak at SMWC on Sept. 25 in Hayes Auditorium, located in Hulman Hall, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Neff, of Marshall, Ill. is a former chemistry professor who owns the rich trove of research material on which much of the book is based. He co-wrote the book with critically acclaimed historian and author, Leonard F. Guttridge.
