In order to "promote literacy," Kim Edwards and Penni Campbell have organized a children's book drive. They were able to fund the project through sponsorship from the CAPE grant.
Starting today, anyone who wishes to donate "new and gently used" books to the cause may drop them off at any elementary school in Clay County. There will also be drop boxes available in Brazil at Riddell National Bank, Page's Food Store and Kroger and at Miller's IGA, A & W Restaurant and First State Bank in Clay City.
The drive is tentatively set to end Nov. 21, but Edwards says it may go on longer if there is a good enough response. All books collected will be given to local children and child care providers.
