The old Blue Bonnet Restaurant has a new owner and a new name. Rose and Dosh Imeri hope to open the new Brazil Family Restaurant on Dec. 1.
The Imeris currently reside in Terre Haute, with 2-year-old son, Arjent, where they help run the Fort Harrison Family Restaurant. They may move to Brazil in the future after the Brazil Family Restaurant opens and becomes established.
Rose's parents, Robin and Sam Malovski, moved to the United States from Ostrec, Macedonia, with their three children 28 years ago. Rose and two more siblings were born in the United States.
"We came to America for a better life for our family," Robin said Monday afternoon while working at the Brazil restaurant.
"I grew up in the restaurant business," said Rose, who was raised in Chicago. "My family's been it for 25 years."
The Brazil Family Restaurant will offer home cooked flavor from a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They'll have a fresh salad bar, soup and a tasty daily special.
Business hours will be 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Breakfast and lunch will be offered from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday.
The Brazil Family Restaurant is accepting reservations for holidays and for business meetings. The redecorated dining room can hold at least 100 people for meetings and parties.
"I've tried to give it a new look," Rose said. "It's not the same. It's not the Blue Bonnet anymore. It'll be better."
