The Brazil Sign and Banner shop will re-open Monday in its newly remodeled location at 44 E. National Ave. The building burned May 26, and was gutted by the electrical fire.
Owner Vince Braun continued to do business out of his home in Saline City while repairs were to be done. But due to labor problems, Braun decided to do the repairs himself with help from his family.
"We've been busy all through the summer at home," Braun said. "So I've not had the time I needed to complete the remodeling. But now we've moved the business back up here and will be open Monday, the 17th."
The different types of work Brazil Sign and Banner can do includes almost any kind of sign, sandblasted signs, lighted sign faces, screen printed signs and vehicle graphics.
Braun discussed the history of the building. He said the interior had been rather dark. During the remodeling, he uncovered the original bricking on two outside walls. He left the brick to decorate the interior of the front office. With the other two walls painted white and two new windows, the office is very cheerful and bright.
Some previous tenants have included McQueen Real Estate, Paul Muncie Auto Sales, Tim Rose Auto Sales and the Car Doctor.
"I was told it was originally an old Sinclair Gas Station," Braun said.
Now it's back to being the Brazil Sign and Banner.
"Our bay is open so we can get cars and trucks out of the cold to letter them or put graphics on them," Braun added.
Anyone wanting a sign can go to the shop Monday or call 812-442-8009. Also, they can use the web site at www.peelnnstickn.com. Customers can place an order on the web site and they can even make their own design.
"We're up and going and ready to do business."
