The University Art Gallery to present the Fall Graduate Thesis Exhibition from Wednesday through Dec. 20. The public is invited to attend a reception honoring the artists Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. The University Art Gallery is located in the Center for Performing and Fine Arts on the campus of Indiana State University at the corner of North Seventh and Chestnut Streets.

The Fall Graduate Thesis Exhibition features the work of Master of Fine Arts candidates Chester Burton and James Biggs. This presentation will be the culmination of their years of visual research at ISU and marks the beginning of their professional creative lives. This semester's thesis exhibition will feature works from the areas of wood sculpture and furniture design, photography and ceramics. The Graduate Thesis Exhibition features the art department's promising creative talent and is traditionally filled with fresh ideas and daring experimentation.

The public is invited to attend the gallery's last artists' reception of the semester on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. This is a great opportunity to view the work, meet the artists and socialize with friends and acquaintances. Refreshments and snacks will be served. The reception is free and open to the public and the university and local communities are encouraged to attend. As an added bonus, visitors can check out exhibitions by graduating Bachelor of Science candidates in the Turman Art Gallery, located in the Fine Arts Building, and an exhibition by students from the Intro to Visual Arts class in the Bare-Montgomery Student Gallery, located in Fairbanks Hall. The show in the Turman Gallery will open at 4 p.m. with an artists' reception and the show at the Bare-Montgomery Gallery will open at 6 p.m. with an artists' reception.

The University Art Gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The gallery is located in the Center for Performing and Fine Arts on Chestnut Street at North Seventh Street. All gallery events are free and open to the public and the facility is wheelchair accessible.
