Officer Anthony Hapenny helps Brian Williams try on a new coat at Wal-Mart. Williams was one of 14 children who had a chance to "Shop with a Cop" Saturday afternoon. Volunteers from the Brazil Police Department took the children through the store to gather about $170 worth of goods for each child. Proceeds from a pork chop dinner and community donations were used. Chief Terry Harrison hopes to help out 8-10 more children at the start of this week. Donations were "excellent this year," he said. "The community really poured into the fund." This year's funds doubled last year's.
