Reberger request approved by board

Wednesday, February 18, 2004

The Brazil Board of Zoning Appeals approved Charlie Reberger's petition for a zoning change on the southwest corner of King and Posey streets at a meeting Tuesday evening.

Reberger has made a construction agreement with B.J.E. Enterprises to place a rental duplex facing east with access off of King Street. He showed the board pictures of a structure the company has already built using the same basic exterior and floor plans.

He plans to charge somewhere between $550 and $650 a month for rent, depending upon the market. Eventually, Reberger intends to move into one half of the duplex himself.

He has already checked with the water and sewer company and there should be no problems in those areas. He assured the board that the financing is in place to complete the project.

Only three of the five board members were present, but that was enough for a quorum. The final vote was 2-0 in favor of approving Reberger's petition, with Lee Reberger abstaining.

Planning and Zoning Administrator Michele Driscoll reminded the board that they need to elect officers soon. A Zoning Appeals Board meeting to do this was tentatively set to take place before the Brazil Plan Commission meeting next Monday at 3 p.m.
