Northview BPA took 24 members to state conference Feb. 29- March 2. The students heard motivational speakers and competed in various business competitions. Top students Jason Short, Stephen Brannan and Sara Spencer earned the opportunity to advance to national competition which will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, in April. Short has served as the Indiana State Treasurer for the past year. To help finance the expenses of the state and national competitions, BPA will be holding adult computer classes on April 6, 8, 13 and 15. Northview High School had several students called to the stage for placing each event, including Sara Spencer, 1st Extemp Speech; Jessica Sanders, 7th Programming; Marsha Krisenko, 6th Prepared Speech; Stephen Brannan, 1st Application/Interview; Cassie Webb, 5th Presentation Management Team, 4th Visual Basic Programming, 2nd Accounting; Christina Rose, 8th Banking and Finance; Kyle Russell, 4th Graphic Design; David Steele, 9th Word Processing and Certificate of Technical Achievement from Indian Workforce Development in Word Processing; and Mitch Mershon, 5th Presentation Management Team and 10th Programming.
