Brazil City Narcotics Investigator Anthony Hapenny found drugs about 5 p.m. Friday at 401 Ringo Drive in the Edgewood addition. Meeks was charged with a Class A Felony, $50,000 bond and remains in the Clay County Jail.
Also arrested were Valerie Luann Carter, 23, Cassandra Sue McDaniel, 32, and Kristen Marie Snyder, 34, for visiting a common nuisance. They have bonded out of jail. The times for initial hearings on the four were not known at press time.
Chief Mark Loudermilk said they had received complaints from neighbors for months and have been investigating. They received a search warrant Friday afternoon. Officers recovered methamphetamine, marijuana over 30 grams and a large amount of cash from the residence.
Assisting with the arrest were Loudermilk, Brazil Det. Marty Beasley, Clay Co. Sgt. Rob Gambill, Reserve deputies Josh Clarke and Jim Snyder and 911 dispatcher Terri Cobia. All of the individuals arrested were female and Cobia was called in to conduct a search.
Loudermilk felt good about the arrest.
"Since we put on a narcotics investigator full time, we think we're making progress with the drug problem in town," he said.
