No leads have come a week after the Air Evac crash that injured three employees and may have killed a patient, a representative of the helicopter ambulance service said.
The crash, which happened early Wednesday morning, took place approximately 30 miles northeast of Evansville. The flight was out of the Washington, Ind. base, which was reopened Wednesday.
Among those injured was Terre Haute resident Steve Richey, a nurse with the company. At press time he was still under the care of Deaconess Hospital.
Publicity Manager Julie Heavrin said that the cause of the crash has not been determined.
"The National Transportation Safety Board is still investigating it," she said. "The bad news is it could take up to six months to find out what happened."
It is also unclear if the crash itself or a preexisting medical condition killed Jerry R. Leonard, the patient on the flight.
