Food pantry helps residents in need

Friday, May 7, 2004

Southern Clay County Christian Care and Share Bread Basket Food Pantry tries to serve those individuals that have a need for food. Clients may come every 30 days for food.

The Food Pantry serves the area from SR 42 south to the Greene County line and west to the Vigo County line and east to the Owen County line. Clients may walk in or they may come with a referral. The organization does ask clients to sign up for food stamps and WIC or other assistance if they are eligible.

During the holiday seasons of Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, Southern Clay County Christian Care and Share Bread Basket Food Pantry prepares food baskets to assist clients in fixing a dinner. These baskets are provided on a referral basis.

The group's weekly hours are from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
