Five Clay County women recently represented Indiana at the third annual Red Hat Society convention in the Dallas, Texas, area. Attending the Texas Tea in the new Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center ballroom were (seated) Sonnie Sherman and Judy Fatch, (left back) JoAnn Stearley and (right back) Mary Jo Butts dressed in traditional red hats and purple outfits. But Mary McCullough (center back) reversed her colors by wearing a purple hat and red dress, thus announcing it was her birthday. She was presented with a candle-covered cake and was sung "Happy Birthday" by many of the 2,500 Red Hatters at the event. Other Indiana chapters attending the Red Hat Rodeo Roundup were from Lafayette, Indianapolis, Greenwood and Huntington, Ind.
