Northview junior Stephen Brannan placed third in Interview Skills at the recent Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. Northview BPA students qualified to attend the national conference by placing in the top five in their event at the state conference held in March.
Sara Spencer placed high in the first round of Extemporaneous Speech and competed in the final round, ending up 11th in the nation. Other students participating were Ashley Huston in Computerized Accounting and Christina Rose in Banking and Finance.
Also attending nationals was Jason Short. He has served throughout the school year as the state treasurer for the organization. Short has had many opportunities to speak to small and large groups and be involved in major decision-making and leadership development seminars.
These students attended the four-day event, along with 4,000 other students from across the nation. Sponsor Beth Moody accompanied the students.
