Indiana State Police District No. 54, Terre Haute, participated in "Operation Pullover" from May 23 to June 5. Operation Pullover is part of the "Click It or Ticket" campaign conducted annually as part of the governor's council on impaired and dangerous driving. Troopers concentrated their efforts on seatbelt enforcement.
The Terre Haute district utilized two three-man teams at various locations in Parke, Vermillion, Clay and Sullivan counties during the campaign period.
The blitz was worked by six off-duty troopers for overtime and resulted in 470 traffic arrests, 435 seatbelt arrests, nine child restraint arrests and three alcohol-related arrests.
The Governor's Council and the "zero tolerance" policy for seatbelt and child restrain usage.
