The garden of Jerry and Marilyn Brackney at 761 W. Craig Ave. is celebrating its first summer by participating in the Garden Tour. The garden was transplated from the couple's former residence last spring. The garden is primarily made of flowers and has three seperate paths made of stone from Marilyn's mother's house. Along the paths are assorted figurines such as a copper hummingbird, metal butterfly and a bronze birdbath decorated with hummingbirds and each path leads to an arbor. Surrounding the garden are a separate shade garden, a gazebo and a stone bench.
The bench is accompanied by a chunk of Van Buren High School that Marilyn traded for 12 bricks from her neighbor. The Garden Tour is June 19 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased from any of the gardens on the day of the tour or at Sugar 'n' Spice Florist.
