The garden of Bob and Karen Bedwell at 2500 E. CR 900 N is comparable to that of an island oasis. The Bedwells started the garden in the spring of 1999 and is now where a variety of plants and animals call home. The focal point of the garden is a 35 by 70 foot pond inhabited with koi, goldfish, catfish, tadpoles, butterflies, frogs, water lillies and lotus. Milkweed and butterfly bush have been planted just to feed the butterflies. Several stone paths will lead visitors to the stream. The Bedwells say that the turtle rock, a volcanic conglomerate packed with quartz that looks like the shell of a turtle, and the red-hot poker flowers are must-sees. The Garden Tour is June 19 from 9 a.m - 4p.m. rain or shine. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased from any garden on the day of the tour or at Sugar 'n' Spice Florist.
