Indiana State Police Officers rode bicycles through Brazil on U.S. 40 Friday about 3 p.m. to honor fellow officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

The riders, Cops Riding for Concerns of Police Survivors, departed the Police/Fire Memorial in Indianapolis Friday at 9 a.m. They will travel some 1,000 miles around the state before returning to the Memorial on June 23 for a candlelight vigil.

All of the proceeds raised will remain in Indiana to support surviving family members. Thirty-four officers will be riding in all or a portion of the trip.
