The garden of Jay and Michelle Burk at 3185 W. Sycamore Ln. offers a peaceful haven with a splash of color.

Started in 1995, the garden of Jay and Michelle Burk starts on the front porch and wraps all the way around the house and contains a variety of stella de oro lillies, verbenas, annuals and potted geraniums. The garden located on the backside of the house overlooks a large pond. A sitting area placed in the front yard allows the couple to sit back and admire all of their hard work. Michelle says she loves how the garden and landscape brings so much life to the house.

For organization, a potting bench hides in a corner by the back door. Michelle designed the bench and Jay built it for her. It is a catch-all for gardening tools and herbs while the rest of it's stock constantly rotates.

The fourth annual Garden Tour takes place June 19 from 9 a.m. - 4p.m. rain or shine throughout historic Brazil. In addition to the six featured gardens be sure to stop by the outdoor tea party and marketplace at Forest Park featuring craftsmen, artists, herbalists and merchants. Tickets are $5 and are available the day of the tour or at Sugar N' Spice Florist. The event is sponsored by Brazil Business Women of Vision. For further information contact Jan at 442-1423 or Vickie at 443-1844.
