Today's scouts, tomorrow's leaders

Friday, June 25, 2004

The Boy Scouts of America, 501 S. 25th St., Terre Haute, is designed to inspire, recruit, train and support the Boy Scouts of America's adult volunteers and work with community leaders to rally public support for scouting. The organization's funding comes from direct contributions, program service fees, popcorn sales, United Way and other income.

Volunteers such as Cubmasters, Den leaders and Scoutmasters and their assistants provide quality, fun-filled programs for their boys. With volunteer executive boards and committees, leaders provide guidance to all levels of scouting. Those interested in volunteering can contact John Lee at (812) 986-3472.

The Boy Scouts of America's mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout oath and law.
