Stephanie Zoll was named Acting Executive Director of the YMCA of Clay County by the YMCA Board of Directors at a meeting Thursday evening. Former Executive Director Nancy Berkheiser resigned Wednesday stating she wanted to "pursue other opportunities".
Zoll, who was raised in Bluffton and Greencastle, has worked at the YMCA for 10 years. Her most current position was Youth Director. She graduated from DePaul University in 2001 with a degree in Elementary Education.
"We have every confidence in Stephanie," Board President Mike Dalton said.
"I'm honored that the Board has confidence in me," Zoll said. "I hope to continue the Y to grow and lead it in a positive direction."
The Board is beginning a search for a permanent Executive Director immediately. The Board hopes to be able to name the new Executive Director within 60 days.
The position will be responsible for all administrative responsibilities including supervision of staff, budget/fiscal management, program development, volunteer program and marketing/public relations. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, recreation, human services or closely related field is preferred. Three to five years of work experience in a YMCA or similar community based recreation facility is necessary.
"The Board is committed to continue upgrading and improving the YMCA for the benefit of all members of the community," Dalton said.
