A joint meeting with the Clay Community Parks Association Inc. and the Brazil Parks and Recreation Board will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27, at the Riddell National Bank. They will be discussing the possibility of developing a trail at Craig Park. The Craig Park trail is just one of many ideas the Association hopes to implement in their long term plans.
Greg Midgley, President of the National Road Heritage Trail Inc. will be the guest speaker at the meeting. The not-for-profit organization is studying the concept of a cross-state greenway for pedestrians, bicycles and in many places horseback riding. Midgley will present preliminary results of this study and request ideas and comments on this concept for Clay County and the City of Brazil.
The Parks Association and the Brazil Park Board are working on a five year master plan to present to the state to secure state and federal grant money for park improvements. Public input is required as part of the five year plan. The public is invited and encouraged to attend this meeting.
